Created to Win!

Bible Verse(s):

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

27 So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

The second aspect of our Divine DNA is the propensity to win. God created us to live victorious lives. In today’s passage, let’s focus on the phrase, “have dominion.” In our DNA is the divine capacity to rule in life. Jesus created humanity to be victors and not victims. He created us to win and not to lose. He created us to rule and not to be enslaved.

Unfortunately, when Adam and Eve rebelled against God through disobedience, the human experience as God intended was greatly impacted. Suddenly, humanity became enslaved to sin, defeated by the enemy, and postured with a victim mindset.

God created you and me to win. Sin opened the door for humans to somehow have an expectation of loss and defeat, so much so that now it is “normal” for humans to walk in bondage, live in brokenness, and suffer defeats. Now, the excuse for this “less than” life is, “I’m only human.” The challenge that I want you to consider is this: living in bondage and defeat is actually living less than human. The enemy wants us to blame it on our humanity when God created humanity with a powerful capacity to rule in life. This is what Jesus wants to restore us to; this is part of His aim as He strives to restore us to His image.

We should expect victory, not defeat, in life. I want you to declare out loud, “It’s in my DNA to be victorious!”

Prayer:
Father God, I ask that You bring revelation to my kids and help them learn how to walk in victory. Teach them and empower them to rule in life and live the way You intended. Help them to live life to the full, not broken and beat up as the enemy intends. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
